Practical thought pattern work

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT helps you identify and shift thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, and stress. It's practical, structured, and one of the most well-researched approaches in mental health care.

Some patterns of thinking run so automatically that they feel like facts rather than habits. CBT starts from a simple premise: thoughts, feelings, and behavior are connected, and changing how you think about a situation can genuinely change how you feel and what you are able to do.

What This Looks Like

We identify the specific thought patterns that keep you stuck, things like catastrophizing, all or nothing thinking, or assuming you know what other people are thinking, and examine the actual evidence for and against them. You also build practical skills alongside that: behavioral activation for doing things even when motivation has not shown up yet, and gradual exposure for facing what you have been avoiding. CBT is structured and goal oriented, often with something concrete to practice between sessions, so progress tends to be visible rather than abstract.

Who This Is For

CBT has one of the strongest research bases of any therapy approach and works especially well for depression, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, and insomnia. It tends to be a strong fit if you want a structured approach with clear tools and markers of progress rather than open ended exploration. If frameworks and concrete steps forward appeal to you more than talking in circles, this is usually the right starting point.
